I'm quite distressed lately. BFF and I have been having some problems. Nothing outwardly stated, but...I feel like something is off, and I'm rather concerned. Granted, she's had a difficult few months, and Lord knows I've had a difficult 2007 overall, but does that mean that a friendship will suffer when both people are having a rough patch? I know that I should address the problem with her, but it's just a conversation that I am dreading having. I suppose that some of the reason for that is because I know what she will say, and perhaps I just don't want to hear it? I know that she thinks I have not been there for her as much as she wanted me to; but I feel that I have been there for her as much as I could have been. Who is to blame, then? Is anyone?? And how to repair the relationship? There are questions that have been plaguing me the past few weeks, and I'm just not sure how mend things. Any suggestions??

It's been HOW long??
Wow I can't believe it's been over three months since I posted anything here!! I'm not quite sure I even have any readers anymore!!
Well, what can I say - I worked all summer long, was slightly stressed out, definitely busy, and now am back at school for my last year of law school - woo hoo!
If there's anyone out there still reading...I hope to update more for my last and final year as the lawnut so stay tuned!!

I've learned to appreciate the finer things in life. I even travel with my own wine. You never know the quality you may encounter at a soiree.
My newest obsession? Vera Bradley stuff. I never heard of this lady's stuff until just a little ago. Now, I'm seeing these cute little bags everywhere I go. Apparently they're all the rage! They are SO fun, and SO cheap! I went to a trunk sale today of these bags, and came home fully stocked up. And let me tell you, it was each girl for herself at this trunk show. There were bags flying, women grabbing up and rushing off, it was a complete madhouse! I was more than fortunate to make it out of there with bags and my limbs intact.
Here's the one I got for myself today - and I got the matching wallet - SO cute!!
Clearly, when I'm stressing over finals, I shop. I can't help it! Thankfully, it's almost over - and then??? VACA!!!!!! woo hoo!!
I got tagged over at Faith's Ambition, so here goes - although I won't answer ALL the questions to preserve the Lawnut's ever-fading anonymity.

You said you'd be right back.
I suck. I haven't posted in nearly three weeks. Have all three of my readers completely abandoned me? I hope not.
Anyway, there hasn't been much calm before this semester's shitstorm, unfortch. I've already hit up the library on a full-time basis (hence the lack of posting). I figure with all the crap that has gone down this semester, I need all the study time I can get.
My happy thought yesterday, though? Was that I got to wear flip flops for the first time since last summer. It was wonderful! I think I'll do it again today.
On Friday night, BFF and I were looking through old pictures from when we were in undergrad. I couldn't even believe that it was me in those pictures. I had to be easily 10 pounds lighter seven or eight years ago. I don't look at myself NOW and think that I've really let myself go, but have I?? Or it is just easier to be 10 lbs lighter at age 19 or 20 than it is at 28?? Regardless the reason, I'm kind of scared of what I'm going to be looking like by the time I'm 40.
I'm hitting up the treadmill now...

It's really human of you to listen to all my bullshit.
I just discovered what might be one of the most fabulous blogs ever: Stuck in the '80s. What, you don't agree? Well, phooey. See, I am a big fan of everything '80s. I grew up during the '80s. When I was 8 and I was watching John Hughes films, I couldn't wait to grow up and be a cool teenager like the ones in the movies, and have life experiences like the ones in Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club. I eventually grew up of course, and I'm still waiting for my life to be that exciting, and fun, and sugar-coated. So that's where my love of everything '80s stems from.
In light of that, there was this video posted on that site - I've watched it twice already. It features clips from some of my favorite '80s movies, all set to the tune of one of my favorite '80s songs. Enjoy, dudes!

We're all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, that's all.
Damn three posts in one day! Clearly, I'm making up for lost time.
Ok I was tagged by Meg on this one - and Lord knows I love me a meme. So here goes:
Six Weird Things About Me
(You ready?? Because I really am weird...)
1. I have a weather/dressing chart - it breaks down temperature categories by season and indicates what to wear for each category. It has taken me years to perfect, but I can proudly say that I am comfortable temperature-wise in my daily outfits. Yes, I realize this is slightly OCD.
2. I don't ever put milk in my cereal.
3. Speaking of cereal, I totally heart cereal dust (you know...the crap at the bottom of the box when all the actual cereal is done).
4. I love doing laundry. I'm slightly obsessive about how I do my laundry, too.
5. I love the smell of gasoline and magic markers.
6. Whenever I hear I Will Follow You Into the Dark by Death Cab for Cutie, I can't help tearing up - primarily because I think of Pup.
I have to tag 6 people here, according to the instructions, so here goes - just tell me 6 weird things about yourself - have fun!! I'm tagging AB (you have to have some weird crap to share...), Cubicle Hell, (c'mon, update your freaking blog!!!), Wendy, FY, Sadie, and Sheila! Ok, going to bed...yea I KNOW it's not even 10pm - but I'm exhausted!!!!!

It's not who you go with, honey. It's who takes you home.
This past weekend was the Law School Prom; and what a prom it was! First of all, my dress was absolutely fabu, if I don't say so myself. It was just perfect, and I was in love with it. Everyone looked so nice, and it was super fun to see everyone just having a good time. I enjoyed myself more this year than last year, I think. It probably has to do with just being more comfortable in my "law school skin" this year than I was last year. Maybe I've just matured a little bit - whatever it was, it worked, and Hubby and I had a really nice time. The only damper to the situation was that I was recovering from a nasty UTI, and the antibiotic that I was taking made me oh-so-nauseous. So unfortch, I had to pass on most of the alcohol. Oh well - at least I was still able to have a prom-rockin' time!
Now it's back to the grind...I am quite pleased to report that next week I'm all done with the torture job of the spring semester! Woo hoo!! I am counting down the days as if Christmas was coming. Besides the obvious about that place, I really just need to free up my time to work on my outlines and my appellate advocacy brief, and all that other good stuff.
In other news, I have some very BIG news (well, big for me anyway) - I have officially pioneered a chapter of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund at my school!!!!! I have been working on this with a couple of other students for months now, and all our efforts are finally paying off. I am trying to hold an informational/general interest meeting in April, so of course everything is super hectic - wish me luck!!!!! :-)
