You've done a lot of solid work here, but it's just not Ivy League, now is it?

Grades have started popping up today....I'm going to go crawl under a rock and die.

Don't be fooled because she may seem like your typical selfish, back-stabbing slut faced ho-bag, but in reality, she's so much more than that.

I got some fan mail today, and I thought it was worthy of writing a post about it. I won't put who it was from, of course, because that would just be so not classy, but here is the body of the email, relating to my Gerald Ford post:

"Just wondering why you complained about the Gerald Ford thing. I mean seriously, it makes you seem really selfish. He was a President."

Well, dear New Reader:
It makes me SEEM really selfish? I AM really selfish, so gosh I hope it comes off that way on this blog; and why did I complain about the Gerald Ford thing? Well I think it's pretty apparent from the post why I was complaining - because I didn't get any mail, and we already have all these holidays dedicated towards honoring everyone and their mother where we already don't get mail, and I couldn't see the point of yet another mail-less day. And yes, I know he was a president - that's what President's Day is for.

I hope that answers your email....come again soon!!!! :-)

Down here, it's our time. It's our time down here.

It's pretty dick when your winter break isn't over yet, but there is a plethora of reading assignments posted on the school's website. You know, I'm still relaxing. I'm still enjoying my time. Why do I have to do pre-semester schoolwork?? I mean, I guess I could not do it; but that would not be a good way to start off the semester. It's just wrong - because if the assignments aren't there, then there is no guilt; but if they are posted, then I experience guilt when I don't do it.

There should be a rule - no professor should be allowed to post reading assignments for the upcoming semester until grades are posted for the previous semester. Short and simple. If grades were out, I wouldn't feel so bitter about doing schoolwork. Ok fine I would, but I would at least do it and shut up about it. This way, I feel compelled to rant.

Grrr. Whatev, I'm going back to watching MTV. At least for three more days.

I mean, he went from totally geek, to totally chic!

New year, new look - whatdya think??

Sorry folks, park's closed. Moose out front shoulda told ya.

Today I went to the post office. I drove all the way to where the post office that has parking is, because the other post office is really annoying to park at. I had about fifty packages that needed mailing (Ebay stuff), and I had to buy stamps. I parked, and lugged all my crap out of the car. I walked all the way to the door. No, I didn't notice that I was the only car in the lot. I tried to open the door. But it was closed. CLOSED. CLOSED.

WHY was the post office closed today?? Apparently President Bush declared today a "National Day of Observance." I see. Interesting. Are the postal workers supposed to have attended Gerald Ford's funeral? Nothing else closed besides the post office and financial markets. I went to the bank this morning and that was open. What is the point of closing the post offices?? Why didn't I get any mail today?? Now, don't get me wrong - I love me some Gerald Ford, and was sad to hear of his passing, although I was surprised that the old boy hadn't kicked earlier; but while I watched a little of the funereal proceedings on TV this morning, I would have conducted my "observance" much more happily and effectively had I been able to mail my packages and buy my stamps. After all, isn't it an American thing to do to conduct US POSTAL SERVICE business?? Would Ford have wanted mail delivery to cease merely because he was heading six feet under?? I think not. And really, let's look at the irony here - President Bush orders the postal service be suspended today in observance of Ford's passing. Last week, U.S. deaths in Iraq reached 3,000. That's more people than were killed in 9/11. I don't see Bush holding National Observance days for all those Americans who have given their lives for this pointless and seemingly endless war. I'm not saying that Ford doesn't deserve to be memorialized. I'm saying that I don't think we need to shut post offices when he dies, while our men and women are dying every single day over there for NOTHING, and I don't see Bush making National Days of Observance for that. In fact, he just sends more Americans out there. Bush has claimed that Americans will not have died in vain out there...well, I'm still waiting to see what the point was.

I don't know what to say, except it's Christmas and we're all in misery.

Well, it's come and gone, and I suppose I'm relieved, if nothing else. There was In-Law Drama, as always, and thankfully it will be a full year before we have to relive the torture that has become Christmastime at our house.
I love my family, and it's always great when they're around, but it's the In-Laws that really put a damper on things. So that's why I'm glad that it's over and done with.

In other, more fascinating news - I saw Rocky Balboa, and had to post a quick review. I absolutely LOVED it. Keep in mind, however, that I'm a big Rocky fan. I think the Rocky movies, well...ROCK; but I really went into this one with low expectations because Stallone is much older now, and I just didn't think that he could pull it off; but boy, was I wrong. Everything came together so nicely, and the feel was just right, the outcome was just right - the movie was great. It really gave closure to the saga. If you're not a Rocky fan, I wouldn't bother to go see this one in theaters, but if you are - well, I wouldn't miss it.

Moments before zero hour, it did not pay to take chances

Dear Santa:

In case you are at a loss as to what to bring me this year, perhaps I can offer a suggestion.

Kickin' It Back to '97

Butterflyfish posted this on 1993, and I sat there and read the tunes while being filled with memories of my freshman year of high school. So of course, I had to do it too. Here's how it works:

1. Go to pop culture madness, and find the greatest hits for the year you turned 18 (1997 for me).

2. Bold the ones you like (I made the ones I LOVED pink), make tiny the ones you hate, italicize the ones you are familiar with but neither like nor hate, leave the ones you don't know as is.

The Grinch Who Stole Hubby

First of all, I would like to announce that I am officially halfway done with law school. That is, of course, given that I got at least a C- or better on all of my finals. Considering how I felt as I left each and every one, that's not so much a given; but regardless, it's over and done with, and now the only thing to do is sit and wait until the professors decide to get around to grading the exams. And posting the grades. All of which I will not hold my breath for.

All that aside, I'm super happy to get my life back; but now that Christmas is a mere nine days away, it's time for Hubby to become the Christmas Grinch.

You see, it's not that Hubby hates Christmas per se, actually. The problem is that Hubby's family has utter hatred and loathing for me, therefore we are the black sheep of his family. As a result, no one wants to see us for Christmas (or any other time of the year for that matter, but I suppose for him it's most acute during Christmas-time).

Now before you go all judging and whatnot, let it not go unknown that we have tried (and yes, I HAVE TRIED), to amend things with this group of haters, really to no avail. So I don't try anymore. However, while I could care less, and in fact makes my Christmas quite merry indeed to not have to deal with any in-laws whatsoever, I cannot say the same for Hubby. Not only does he have to deal with HIS in-laws, but he also has to deal with the sad situation of his family not caring to see him on Christmas of all days.

So today seems to be the start of Cranky-Pants Hubby - the Hubby that proclaims hating the holidays, but he really doesn't, it's just because his family sucks and doesn't realize that he's totally awesome. Am I a pill? Of course I am; but if Hubby likes me, then they should at least pretend to like me too.

Now, who stole the last can of Who Hash??!?!?

The End Of a VERY Long Day

Honestly, I can't believe my last post was a week ago. I can't believe it because the last seven days have felt like one really long, loooonng day.

I have spent every single one of those days in the Law Library for a substantial amount of time. I don't want to complain about it anymore, because I just can't, and no one wants to hear it anyway. What I DO want to talk about, however, is how at this time tomorrow it's all going to be over. Regardless of how I did (and I hope it was at least ok - I don't need great or good, just ok), I get to have reprieve for a little while. And it's going to rock.

And speaking of rocking, I can't wait to have a drink tomorrow. Or two. Or ten.

It's not a good night unless I wake up in a hospital in restraints. Ha.

Home stretch, baby....I can almost see the finish line.

I'm Not Gonna Do What Everyone Thinks I'm Gonna Do...

...Which is just....FLIP OUT....

Ok, Corporations is over. I'm still here.

But my brain? Not so much. Today's pic pretty much sums it up.

Tomorrow...back to Hell, er, the Law Library.

Boo.

Abandon All Hope Ye Who Enter Here

That's what it should say at the entrance of my school.

Where has Lawnut been, you ask (or not)? Hell. Hades. The Law Library.

Tomorrow is my Corporations exam and I've already cried twice. I'm not nearly ready. I don't know what to do and there is nothing that can stop the hell train from running me down tomorrow at noon. Sure maybe you think it's dumb that I cried. Shit, I kind of think it's dumb too; but exams really stress me out, especially when they're really hard, really weighted, really closed-book exams on topics that I'm really feeling shaky about. So whatever. Go ahead, laugh. I can't wait until the next time I'm really able to laugh.

Ugh........

Here's hoping I can manage to get up and keep going.

WTF?

Ok I promise I'll give a full-on Bachelor roundup tomorrow, but I just had to post quickly now - JEN???!?!?!?!?! Really Lorenzo??!?!?!?!?!?!?!!

I'm sadly disappointed. Why does The Bachelor always disappoint me?? Why doesn't The Bachelor ever pick the girl who wants him and loves him? Is it because men always want what they can't really fully have?????????

I had a long day and need to get some sleep. Exams aren't even fully here yet and I'm already feeling the heat. But I'm going to bed REALLY disappointed here...Enzo, you let me down.

Black Friday Shopping - From a Desk Chair

I couldn't leave the house today.

No, not because I ate myself into oblivion yesterday or an apple-pie coma. I couldn't leave because I had too much studying to do; however, I just could not miss out on the Black Friday deals; but really, who can deal with the crowds of people, lines forming outside stores since 4am?? Maybe some can, but me...not so much.

So I trolled the internet this morning for all the things I had to get people for Christmas this year - and got some great deals and free shipping, and I can proudly say, that I'm pretty much dunzo as far as Christmas gift-buying is concerned. And I never even left my chair!!

How do you like them apples??

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Thanksgiving is the best holiday - you get to eat until your jean button threatens to pop off and kill the person sitting directly across from you, drink yourself silly, and then when you pass out in a food and alcohol-induced coma, just blame it on some funky chemical in the turkey called tryptophan. And then you just sound smart when you say big scientific words like that. Yup, Thanksgiving is the best holiday....happy turkey day everyone!! :-)

Too Many Guys

I hate to admit it, but I can't get enough. If you saw this previous post featuring "bang bang bang," then maybe you can't get enough either. I'm referring to what is apparently called Group X and their weird animations to their even weirder songs. I don't know anything about them - but I can't stop watching their stuff, or having the songs in my head during the day!

Here's the latest one I can't stop replaying...I think it's as good as "bang bang bang" if not better.

Enjoy.

Give Me the Damn Pills, I'll Count 'Em!

Yesterday I had to pop by my friendly neighborhood pharmacy to get a couple of prescriptions filled. I figured that I had to go to the post office so I would drop off the prescriptions first, then head to the post office, and by the time I was done there, my medications would be done and I could go home. Mind you, I was going back home to work on my many and incomplete outlines, so I really didn't have a world of time here.

I get to the pharmacy, and there is no one milling about. "Great," I think to myself as I head over to the "Drop Off" counter. I observe three individuals milling about behind the counter. It appears that one is the pharmacist and the other two are techs. While all three seem to be doing something, it's perfectly quiet in there and doesn't look like it's terribly busy. It still takes several minutes for someone to approach me to take my prescriptions. The girl claims that I am "third in line" for prescriptions to be done, and I inform her that I'm going to the post office and I'll be right back. She said that would be fine. Time: 3:30pm.

I head off to the post office, get stuck in a little bit of traffic, and then there was a line in the post office. I go back to the pharmacy. Time: 4:15pm.

I go up to the counter and ask if my stuff is ready yet. I get some confused and panicked looks from the technicians. The pharmacist looks like he could care less. Then I get the dreaded question, "Did your insurance change?" Of course it didn't, you asshat! I've gotten prescriptions here with the same damn insurance for the last six months!!! WHY is there a PROBLEM???!!?! And just the fact that you're asking me this indicates that my medication is STILL not ready. So I fork over the insurance card, and the technician tells me it will just be a few minutes while she "puts it through." Fine. I sit down. Time: 4:30.

TIME: 4:45pm - WHY AM I STILL SITTING HERE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!

I go up again to ask the status. Really, people, I don't have all day. I'm again told it will just be a few more minutes. I tell the girl I'm leaving and that Hubby will be by after work to pick up the medication.

Time: 6:30pm. I'm home and the phone rings - it's Hubby. He asks, "What time did you drop off these prescriptions?" I tell him 3:30pm. Why is he asking? BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT READY YET. That's right, THREE HOURS LATER, and they're still not ready??!!

Ok pharmacy staff, let me let you in on a little something here - you count pills, ok? You punch in a couple of numbers in that little computer and then you count some pills out of a little bottle, put the shit in a bag, and haul it out. It's really not that hard. I know, because I used to do your job. So when there is no one in the pharmacy milling around the counter, there really is no excuse to have it take THREE HOURS to get one little order out, mmkay?? WAKE THE FUG UP!!
