LawNut and Pup Go To the Vet

Last week it was time for Pup's yearly visit to the vet, so off we went. I made sure that he had pooped beforehand, because I know that he has a tendency to want to poop once he gets to the vet, and this can oftentimes be an embarrassing ordeal.
When we got to the vet, Pup insisted on harrassing every dog that came in there. Mind you, Pup weighs 90 pounds, so a lot of people don't really appreciate Pup's good natured harrassment. Finally, apparently the staff had enough of his antics and put us in the room to wait for the doctor. Now, Pup gets REALLY excited when he knows that he's going to see the doctor. For whatever reason, he really likes this one vet that we always see, Dr. Pets, and it's like he knows that when we go there, he's going to see Dr. Pets. We sat and waited, and Pup started to get antsy, walking around the room, anxiously awaiting Dr. Pets' arrival. Suddenly, however, I saw Pup pop a squat - and out came a MOUNTAIN of poop!!!! It was enormous!! And the stench was enough to nearly bring tears to my eyes!! As soon as the nurse and Dr. Pets entered the room, I thought they were going to pass out from the smell!! Even after it was cleaned up, the stench remained.
The exam began, Pup got his nails trimmed, and then it was time to....dum, dum dum dum...drain the anal glands. For anyone that doesn't know, dogs have these glands in their butts that release a weird smell sometimes, kind of like a skunk. Most of the time they take care of themselves, but sometimes they get a little full and start to smell all the time, and need to be drained by the vet. So poor Dr. Pets got to work on taking care of that aspect of the visit, and honestly, the odor that came out of there made the poop smell like a bunch of roses. Needless to say, once we let that room, it was RIPE. I honestly couldn't wait to get out of there!!! Thankfully, it was over relatively quickly, and now Pup is happy as can be!! Woof woof!
